Many children with and without autism challenges processing information such as touch, movement, balance, and body awareness. These challenges can impact learning, behavior, social participation and daily activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sensory integration is a play-based, child-centered intervention designed to help the brain organize and respond more effectively to sensory input. The goal is to improve how children interact and participate in everyday life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Research from Schoen et al.<\/a> identified Ayres Sensory Integration\u00ae as an evidence-based intervention for children with autism aged 4-12 years. Their work found meaningful improvements when training was delivered according to the original principles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
